With the arrival of the fall school season, it is time for parents to begin thinking about childrens' activities for the year. The Toronto Estonian Society offers a kindergarten/nursery school program, held at the Toronto Estonian House on Saturday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
We offer three Programs:
• Parents and Tots – for children 12 months to 3 years of age
• Estonian Immersion – for children 3 to 6 years of age
• Estonian Enrichment – for children 3 to 6 years of age
The Estonian Kindergarten offers two streams — Estonian Immersion for beginners in Estonian and Estonian Enrichment for Estonian-speakers. We make an effort to bring children in the two streams together frequently in appropriate activities such as dancing and music, class visits and games, to allow children of the same age group to get to know each other and develop a sense of community, regardless of Estonian language skills.
For the 2012-2013 academic year, the first Kindergarten classes will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, starting at 9:30 am, at the Toronto Estonian House. All parents are welcome to bring their children to the program. Annual registration fees are $340.00 (first child in main program), $215.00 (second child in main program, or first child in parent/tot program) and $140.00 (third child in main program, or second child in parent/tot program). We ask all parents to also bring their child's health card number to the registration meeting.
We hope to see many new children (and new parents as well) at this year's Estonian kindergarten! Further information can be found on the kindergarten website, www.lasteaed.org, or by contacting the president of the kindergarten committee, Maaja Uukkivi – maaja.uukkivi@sympatico.ca.
