Estonian Canadian Organizations Conference: III

Estonian Central Council in Canada (EKN)

EKN is pleased to invite your organization representative to attend a special virtual event with Marin Mõttus, newly appointed Ambassador for Global Estonians on Sunday December 5th, 2021 at 12pm EST.

It is a huge achievement for Estonians abroad to have an appointed ambassador and 2 advisors for Global Estonian affairs, as well as a Canadian representative on the cabinet level Estonian government Global Estonian Advisory Council (Valitsuse koostöökomisjon). This is the result of four years of active lobbying by diaspora central organizations for greater representation, an effort initiated and largely led by EKN. This conference will be an opportunity for you to make your voices heard.

Ambassador Mõttus is actively seeking input from global Estonian communities regarding accomplishments and challenges as we move forward together to implement the new Global Estonian Program, in January 2022. This program will provide significant support and funding for global Estonian organizations. An update about the program will be provided along with information about the implementation plan. It is important for Eesti to develop an increased awareness of who we are, including our goals and needs.

Please register by November 30th, with kairihemingway@gmail.com

Provide your name (or name of person representing your organization), email address and organization name. An order of presenters will be provided closer to the event. You will be sent a Zoom link after registering.

PLEASE COME PREPARED TO PRESENT A 2 MINUTE OVERVIEW OF YOUR ORGANIZATION.

THIS CAN BE IN ESTONIAN OR ENGLISH. Ambassador Mõttus speaks fluent English and meeting will be held in both Estonian and English according to need.

In your 2 minute presentation:

State name of organization, city/town where you’re located, when you were founded, what you offer/do

-Demographic data – how many members, etc.

-What makes your organization unique; one thing you are most proud of; one challenge you face?

-What are you looking/hoping for in future cooperation with Eesti

Please let us know if you have any questions.

We look forward to seeing you on December 5th!
