The film ‘Ahto’ was the jury’s pick as winner of the estdocs 2018 festival. The film tells the story of the sailboat and its crew circumnavigating the globe in 1938. Morson “Bill” Macrae had been part of Ahto’s crew and had preserved the segments of the film that was made during the voyage. The segments formed the basis for the current documentary “Ahto”. Macrae’s son Jock was present at estdocs’ gala opening and was happy to accept as a thank-you a photo of Ahto, the commander of the crew, from filmmakers Jaanis Valk and Erik Norkroos.
