Sponsored by the Estonian Consulate General in Toronto, the feature film “1944” was screened at The Royal to a standing room only crowd. Viewers, after the screening heaped praise on the Elmo Nuganen directed production. Producer Maria Avdjushko's kind agreement for the use of the film should be sincerely praised. The film is a candidate for being nominated as best foreign film at the Oscars.
