Now he wouldn't ever consider it. Today's Estonia offers a higher living standard and membership of NATO and the European Union. Nobody in Narva longs to be in Ivangorod, the Russian town over the river

The west still believes Russia will test NATO's resolve in the Baltics.

General Riho Terras says,”its not just bad weather, its climate change,” referring to the threat of Russia.

NATO has pitched in with “Operation Atlantic Resolve” putting 150 troops into each of four NATO countries that border Russia (Baltic States and Poland). A rapid response force is in the works.

The article gave the election results which the Reform party won. The pro Putin Centre party came second. The Reform Party will form a coalition with other than the Centre Party.

In easing tensions now all persons born in Estonia will automatically become citizens despite their parentage and Prime Minister Taavi Roivas has appointed the first native Russian minister since the Soviet days.
