A visit to China offers many interesting photographic opportunities. Even in the early morning, before seven, it is obvious that the Chinese take responsibility for their personal health. They gather in city parks, either in groups or alone, with or without accompanying music from a boom-box, and do their morning exercises. Some use swords and fans as their devices, but most rely only on their hands and feet. Some groups appear to be directed by a leader, while others seem to work in unison without one. Even the simple task of walking to work, as seen in the photo from the shore of West Lake in Hangzhou, can be associated with arm-raising exercises. Most of the photos in the gallery were taken on a foggy morning in Hangzhou. In Wuxi, the sun was shining as a tai chi master practiced in Liyuan park.
