About Us

Take on the Estonian way of life

Eesti Elu has always connected the community through words. We’ve collected the sweet memories and the heartfelt good-byes. The longing for independence back home and the celebration-tears of achieving it. The precious traditions that our community has kept alive and the new ones created on Canadian soil. Week by week, we have preserved the story of Estonians abroad – a small population achieving great things, building a legacy from scratch. A community that has built churches, community houses, countless organizations, a credit union, camp sites, stores – all from the ground up.

And we will continue to do so. The Estonian future ahead is bright – leaders in e-society, a stellar education system, outstanding literacy rates, groundbreaking innovation and skyrocketing unicorns. And these are just a few of the things that make this nation special.

We are all part of this epic story, at home and abroad, in big or small ways. Everyone counts and we are counting on everyone.

By becoming a subscriber of Eesti Elu you are doing just that – keeping your finger on the pulse of our community, while ensuring our rich and growing history is not only kept safe, but that those stories are told loudly and proudly. We are a small nation but a mighty one.

Eesti Elu has been published weekly since 2002.
