He is a husband, father and leader in his community. He is the child of immigrants fleeing the 1956 Hungarian oppression.
Takach was born in Toronto in 1957, the son of impoverished immigrants who came to Canada in search of a better life, leaving Hungary following the Soviet invasion of that country the previous year. From an early age, he and his brother were raised by a single mother in modest circumstances and hard work.
Using the money he raised by running a house painting business that he started from his mother's garage, Takach used the money to study at the Institut d'etudes Politiques at the Universite d'Aix-Marseilles in France, where he became fluent in French.
Takach received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts degree in international relations from the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs at Ottawa's Carlton University.
Takach has worked for 30 years by advising Canadian and international organizations. Takach would like to see Canada embrace technology and bring Canada which is at 10% of technology grid up to par with say Sweden which is at 30%.
He sees Liberal leadership as a re-building of the party, visiting each riding, motivating them and seeing the party grow.
The leadership vote will be on February 15, 2013.
His address is 25 Sheppard Avenue West. Tel. 1-855-825-2245.
