St. Peter’s Ladies Guild resumes activities

After almost three years of not getting together due to Covid, the Ladies Guild held a meeting on Thursday, July 13th. The group was overjoyed at seeing each other again.

Lehta Greenbaum and Tiiu Roiser

Lehta Greenbaum was honoured for her many years of service as the Chairwoman. Six members who had passed during this time period were honoured. The event began with their traditional singing of grace “Issand leiba õnnista, ole ikka meiega, Amen”.

Topics of discussion included adding new members to the group, and indeed, some new faces had come to take part in the event. Should the name “Ladies Guild” be changed to make it more inclusive for the men who will participate? Send in your suggestions!

Plans for upcoming church events were also discussed. What are the important dates we want to celebrate, and how do we want to mark the occasions? Who should we celebrate with, and who to invite?

Did you know that we have a waiting list of people looking to purchase our Cookbook? The group made a unanimous decision to reprint the book with some amended recipes. We will announce when the new book will be available for purchase. There are currently a few copies of the original cookbook available at the church office at a price of $30.

The next meeting of the group will be on Wednesday, August 9th, at 11 a.m. in the Ladies Guild room.

Would you like to join our group to organize and carry out social functions and fund-raising events? Let the church office know of your interest. Men and women welcome!
