Please join us to celebrate the 50th Annual Meeting of Members, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, 7:00-8:00pm EDT at Tartu College & Zoom. Pre-registration is required, please contact EFC Office at 416-465-5600 or info@estonianfoundation.ca for details.
Dear EFC Members,
EFC has kept our community strong for more than 50 years. Through our support for heritage and cultural programs we help connect Estonians with other Estonians, provide a sense of belonging to a community, and an understanding that we achieve more working together.
Thank you to all of you, to our steadfast volunteers, community teachers, leaders, and workers. A special thank you to everyone who donates to EFC. Without your donations our activities would cost more, we would have fewer programs and places to connect or feel that sense of belonging.
How we all ended up in Canada may vary, but what happened 80 years ago is one of the reasons this charity was founded in 1974. EFC is a registered charity still providing a trusted place to donate and support our community.
In 2024, EFC provided financial support to the many commemorations of the 1944 horrors and the Great Escape. Last year also marked the 50th anniversary of EFC, a testament to our shared past, shared future, and shared commitment to living our Estonian heritage. How we all ended up in Canada may vary, but what happened 80 years ago is one of the reasons this charity was founded in 1974. EFC is a registered charity still providing a trusted place to donate and support our community.
In 2024, EFC also provided financial support to more than 30 programs and initiatives including children’s summer camps, language instruction, folk dance groups, choirs, festivals, art exhibitions and new initiatives. EFC also continued to offer scholarships to Estonian Canadian post-secondary students and sponsored activities in support of our elderly. EFC believes renewal in the community is important which is why we also support new initiatives and quality programs.
You may have noted an updated logo at the top of this letter and in our AMM package. EFC must continue to rethink and renew as well.
We can be proud to celebrate our achievements, but the world remains in turmoil. Part of our mission demands that all of us, our children, as well as our non-Estonian friends, know about Estonia, our culture, language, heritage, and why we remain vibrant and active.
I look forward to seeing you at the 2025 Annual Meeting of Members.

President
