The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Executive Director to lead our home and oversee day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements, managing staff and budgets, and advancing the mission of our home to provide a welcoming and caring environment for our residents.

This is a leadership role requiring vision, compassion, and strong organizational management skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to seniors’ care and the ability to foster a culture of respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the long-term care and retirement home in accordance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and applicable Ontario regulations.

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care that meets or exceeds provincial standards.

• Direct and support department managers, staff, and volunteers to achieve organizational goals.

• Manage the home’s operations, including clinical care, staffing, finance, facilities, and resident services.

• Oversee budgets, financial reporting, and ensure fiscal responsibility.

• Act as primary liaison with the Ministry of Long-Term Care, Ontario Health, and other regulatory bodies.

• Collaborate with the Board of Directors in strategic planning and reporting.

• Promote positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and the community.

• Ensure effective risk management, health and safety, and compliance systems are in place.

• Lead by example in fostering a respectful, supportive, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• A post-secondary degree in health administration, business administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in health care, long-term care, or a similar sector.

• Strong knowledge of Ontario’s long-term care legislation, regulations, and compliance standards.

• Certification by a recognized Long-Term Care Administrator Certification Program that meets the requirements of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021

• Demonstrated financial management and budgetary skills.

• Proven ability to manage, motivate, and mentor multidisciplinary teams.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and resident-centered care.

• Fluency in Estonian is considered an asset, but not required.
