From September 12th to 14th, the fourth edition of Nou Pois Äläud folk dance camp brought sixty dancers to Jõekääru. The dance retreat and three-day celebration of Estonian culture was led by four instructors who traveled all the way from Estonia. The camp welcomed a mix of seasoned dancers and twenty-one newcomers, including teens.
Over the course of the weekend, the group perfected three new dances, played games, took part in a line-dancing session with choreographer and instructor Bobby Chong, and enjoyed a bead necklace-making workshop taught by a doctoral student of ethnology.
