Of 147 players in the field, seventy-five made the cut at 2-under, qualifying to continue play in rounds three and four. This year, 10 of the 21 Canadians made the cut—the country’s strongest showing since 1969.
The gates opened at 7:00 a.m., and by 7:15 the first tee shots were cutting through the warming air. Spectators were soon walking alongside the fairways, following groups across the 7,389-yard parkland-style course layout—its contours shaped originally by Doug Carrick and renovated in 2023 by Ian Andrew. What began as a calm near-summer day quickly turned into what players call “Moving Day,” and the leaderboard reflected it.
At day’s end, twenty-six-year-old American Jackson Suber stood alone at the top. On the par-5 18th, he got up-and-down for a decisive birdie; an exhale moment that secured him his first 54-hole lead on the PGA Tour. His 4-under 66 left him at 13-under overall, one stroke ahead.
Their presence underscored the volatility of the day: 17 players sat within four shots of the lead, turning the final round into a wide-open contest.
