In honour of the memory of the late Andres Olvet, the Toronto and East York Community Council have recommended that a lane in the Beaches area of Toronto be named “Andy Olvet Lane”.
An application by Ellen Pisani states that “Andy was a well-loved community member who had a big presence in the area around this laneway. He spent a lot of time at Kew Gardens Tennis Club, Kew Gardens Rink, Donald Summerville Pool, Lake Ontario and Pantry Park, He also lived in the Beach area since immigrating to Canada in the early 1950s”.
Andres Olvet was a well known lawyer.
