ESTONIAN HOUSE UPDATE

Estonian House at 958 Broadview Avenue is again busy with activity for the fall season. For example, Thursday, Sept. 20th the house was full of Estonian and community activities, from morning to evening. At an early hour, the volunteers who organize the " Lõbus Pärastlouna ", which takes place in the Grand Hall, arrived to set up and prepare. The event began at 12:30 p.m. and participants filled the hall. Everyone enjoyed a light lunch, Liina Purje- Lepik's beautiful songs, Enno Õunapuu's enjoyable variety of musical stylings and Jaak Järve's humourous disposition as master of ceremonies. The volunteers barely got the hall emptied and dishes washed, when it was time for Matti to put the chairs in rows for the Baltic 100 choir practice, during which melodic voices echoed to the roof and lifted everyone’s mood.

Also seen arriving were many members of the “laske klubi” who held their usual Thursday night training.

In the meantime, the “Spirit of Math “students and parents filled the classrooms and lower level, while ballroom dancers danced in the Crystal hall and the pilates class took place in the Gallery Hall. The parking lot was full and through usual co-operation everyone had smooth in and out access.

Even “Foodora” was present at the Estonian House. The delivery -person made a number of trips back and forth with large packages of “gourmet” meals that were being delivered to a meeting in the bank boardroom.

Great to see lots of youth, lots of seniors, lots of middle-aged folks, lots of activity and lots of Estonian spirit at the Estonian House ! (N.A.)
