Colouring contest winners!
The International Estonian Centre (IEC) invited the community to the grand opening of its Welcome Centre at the Estonian House at December’s Rahvajõulupuu, and to put their creative talents to work in a colouring contest! Those who wished to do so could have their artwork submitted to a jury. The jury was led by Liisa Soots, creative expression teacher at the Estonian Kindergarten, who confirmed that the decision-making was difficult because all submissions were delightful. The prize-winning works were in four age categories and they will be receiving a bookstore gift card: 5 and younger, Maali, Aila and Taniel; 5-10, Avani and Julius; Matthias for teenagers; and, Pilleriin for adults. This photo shows the work of Matthias. The IEC is grateful to all the participants and encourages everyone to visit the Welcome Centre, located at street level next to the Estonian House lobby during business hours. Please also sign up to receive the IEC e-mail newsletter at www.estoniancentre.ca.
