Knowing that their supporters will agree with them, at least in the open, is one of the reasons why current White house sycophants are emboldened to lie even when presented with irrefutable evidence to the contrary. Secondly, politicians and their followers, especially those who espouse far left-wing or far right-wing views live in a limited media and social bubble in which they all use the same sources that reinforce their views. For EKRE supporters it’s Uued Uudised (New News website) for ‘Trumpers’ it’s Fox News, Breitbart and others of the same ilk. This media bubble is solid in repelling conflicting viewpoints or facts from entry. The lies are so delicious they whet the appetite for more. The gullible soak them up like a sponge.
