Absurd, UN dithers while Ukraine fights for Democracy (part 1)

Absurd! The UN General Assembly voted four times between March, 2nd and April 7th 2022 condemning Russia, for invading Ukraine and violating human rights, issuing stern resolutions and removal of Russia from the Human Rights Council. Yet Russia still gets its turn to chair the UN Security Council, intending to exercise its full rights.

Diplomats at the UN headquarters in New York point out that most of the council’s agenda in April, like any month, is taken up by routine briefings and reports on UN peacekeeping missions around the world. “It is important to protect the rest of the council’s work on other files,” one diplomat said. “We don’t want to disrupt the work that the council is doing elsewhere, because that would allow Russia’s invasion to have an even wider impact on issues of peace and security around the world.”

Message to diplomats: the democracies in the world are sorry to interrupt the important work of keeping files up to date, but remember the mission is to keep the peace! This same attitude does not want to contemplate dealing with many free countries emerging from decolonizing Russia. Oh heavens; too many files to deal with. Message to diplomats: Vladimir Putin no longer qualifies as the leader of the Russia file; therefore should be removed from the UN Security Council. The UN says the International Crimes Court is separate from the UN. Don’t hand civilized people this legal rubbish.
