AKEN Giant Rummage and Bake Sale coming up on Saturday April 30th at Esto House

Doors open at 8 AM and sale is extended to 3 PM!

The Kungla children's folkdancing troupe was more than willing to participate in a fun photo op to show you, the donator, the kinds of items that will definately find new owners at the rummage sale on April 30th. The Kungla kids happily donned headwear from the weird to the wonderful, from Mexican sombreros and cowboy hats to "kübarad" and fascinators, and played dress-up in vintage clothing that someone's "memme" (grandma) had dug up from the basement of her house.

Yes, indeed, the AKEN giant recycling machine is awaiting your donations! In addition to headwear, we'd love to sell your other unneeded accessories such as socks, belts, ties, mitts, gloves, scarves, kerchiefs
and old-fashioned mink stoles. Purses, baggage, footwear? Absolutely yes! All sizes, all colours and spikes of all heights! And jewellery, don't forget jewellery, lots of jewellery and watches!
One good deed deserves another or as they say in Estonian “käsi peseb kätt”. AKEN helps support the Kungla Folk Dancers from its proceeds from the Giant Rummage and Bake Sale and the Kungla kids and instructors help to promote the sale by posing for a picture advertising the sale. Front (L to R): Eila, Eliise, Imbi, Silje, Andrea, Julia; back (L-R): Kristina, Agnes, Karin, Vera, Tuuli, Karu, Viive, Hillevi, Kariina.

How about clothing you ask? The Kungla kids were happy to know that they could donate clothing and toys which they themselves had outgrown and even happier that they could buy replacements at the sale. In terms of adult clothing, vintage and designer items are most desirable as well as those brand new shirts and skirts which you brought home from the store but never actually wore.

Bargain hunters love kitcheware and household items from everyday dishes, utensils, serving plates/bowls, pots/pans and small appliances to fancier glass, porcelain, crystal and pottery items. Collectables, home decor items, giftware, lamps and clocks are also on the “wanted” list as is artwork, frames, musical instruments, DVD's and LPs and personal care items of all kinds. Feel free to donate linens from bedding and towels to fancy tablecloths and runners. Fabric, yarn, notions and other sewing/knitting paraphanalia are also most welcome.

AKEN's long established Esto Boutique and the ever popular AKEN Cafe and Bake Sale will both be located in the Crystal Hall of Esto House on the day of the big sale. Please donate Estonian handicrafts and artifacts to the former and every style of baked goods to the latter!

Please bring your donations to the Estonian House on the following dates and times:
Tuesday April 26 from 11 AM to 9 PM
Thursday April 28. from 6PM to 9 PM
Friday April 29 from 11 AM to 7 PM
