Camp Seedrioru wishes to thank the Estonian Foundation of Canada

It is with great appreciation and thanks that Seedrioru Children’s camp is once again, the recipient of a generous grant from the Estonian Foundation of Canada.

This year, the $32,000 received by Seedrioru will be completely directed at the programming for our summer camp where over 75 children, from ages 4-16 are already preregistered. The amount of children planning on attending is growing every week!

This year’s camp will start July 10 and run for 4 weeks. We will once again be bringing children together from all over southern Ontario and we are truly excited that there has been a noticeable increase of campers from Toronto and also from as far away as Vancouver and California.

Almost all of these children have parents or even grandparents that made life long friends and wonderful childhood memories. They now want their children to experience that opportunity as well.

Without the continuous generous financial support from EFC, this annual summer camp would not be sensational summer experience that it has been and will continue to be. It is important for everyone to know and understand that it has been EFC, that has without question been the most substantial and significant organization that has consistently provided the financial support to Seedrioru. Their unwavering support has been dependable and consistently over $25,000 per year for at least the past 20 years.

Knowing that we can depend on EFC, Seedrioru has had the confidence to put together a very extensive and culture rich program for all 4 weeks of camp this year. We are able to bring in qualified Estonian speaking counsellors and entice guest speakers that will offer interesting and informative instruction involving various segments of Estonian folklore and traditions. We have also secured a talented singer and folk dance instructor from Estonia to teach Estonian music and dance. And last but not least the kids will not only be spoiled by delicious Estonian pirukad, kringel and other special foods throughout all their weeks at camp, they will learn how to make some of them so that these traditions will not be lost. Without EFC’s support, this level of quality programs would not be possible and it is also clear that with EFC’s support, the future of the Estonian community at Seedrioru is a certainty.

We wish to publicly acknowledge and express our most sincere gratitude to EFC for the years of substantial support to Seedrioru and encourage everyone to include generous donations to the Estonian Foundation of Canada as part of your annual charitable gifts. Together we are both stronger!

On behalf of the grandparents, parents, children, volunteers and elected Board of Directors of Seedrioru Children’s camp 2022, a huge THANK YOU!
