Correction to Eesti Elu article March 31st, 2023

(Editor’s comment on corrections: The two corrections published here involve a submission by an author who has contributed several times previously. While Estonian Life had no plausible reason to question the veracity of her facts, we are still accountable for serious inaccuracies. We sincerely regret this oversight.)

The Board of Directors of VEMU/Estonian Museum Canada wish to correct an error in the article regarding St. Peters Church.

The design of the Grand Hall of the Toronto Estonian House was correctly attributed to Mihkel Bach in the 2017–2018 exhibit “Building a Community. Estonian Architects in Post-War Toronto” and in the book issued in connection with the exhibit entitled “Uude maailma. Eesti arhitektid Torontos/To the New World. Estonian Architects in Toronto”. The exhibit and its companion book were prepared by Eesti Arhitektuurimuuseum/Museum of Estonian Architecture with assistance from VEMU/Estonian Museum Canada (previously called Estonian Studies Centre). The exhibit was sponsored by VEMU/Estonian Museum Canada. The book is a scholarly work and pays tribute to Mihkel Bach as architect of both the Grand Hall and St. Peter’s Estonian Church.
