Dr. Vello Salo, Catholic priest, theology professor, author, historian, WWII veteran, ultilingual, translator, publisher, Estonian patriot, receives special recognition from the interior minister Hanno Pevkur for his contribution to Estonian culture and religion, and for his research of the crimes of the occupying regimes on the occasion of Dr. Salo's 90th birthday in October. Dr. Salo, a former resident of Toronto has also left a legacy in Canada – people moved by his unselfish dedication to a cause and to his homeland.
