As previously announced, the Estonian Relief Committee in Canada (ERC) is in the process of hiring a new full-time Executive Director (ED) for Ehatare. Since a new Executive Director will not be in place before our current ED’s last day, the Board of Directors has followed the procedures set out in our by-laws and selected a Board member to serve in the role on an interim basis.
We are pleased to share that Kristiina Valter, our Vice-Chair, will assume the responsibilities of Executive Director until a full-time replacement is officially hired. During this interim period, Kristiina will take a leave of absence from her duties on the Board of Directors to focus fully on the daily operations of Ehatare. Kristiina has served on the Board since June 2019 and over the last couple of weeks has spent many days with Veronika to gain deeper familiarity with the day-to-day operations of Ehatare. Kristiina has also spent time with the senior management team and we are all confident these working sessions will contribute to a successful interim transition.
Once again, ERC wishes to sincerely thank Veronika Viinamäe for her years of devoted service to Ehatare. We are equally grateful for the commitment of our colleague, Kristiina Valter, whose leadership will help ensure continuity and care for our residents during this transition.
With gratitude,
Allan Meiusi, Chair, and the Board of Directors
Estonian Relief Committee in Canada
