It’s not easy to be concrete about it for a few reasons.
The calculation of a country’s centre is a matter of geometry. When observing the mainland of Estonia alone, the centre is generally accepted to be near the village of Kalme, in Jõgeva County. At the coordinates 58°41'39.2"N 25°54'27.1"E, one finds the spot that’s been officially recognized and marked with a National Geographic “yellow window,” from Visit South Estonia’s “Kollased aknad” initiative. Through this frame, visitors can see a big boulder, a signpost, and some trees. Nothing too dramatic. Quite removed from the historic architecture of Tartu and Tallinn, geological wonders, or a sweeping coastal vista.
