The Estonian Embassy in Ottawa with the involvement of the Estonian Central Council recently hosted an evening with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna at Tartu College. Tsahkna updated the audience with an overview of Estonia’s current challenges and the future direction for Estonia. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna and Canadian ex-Minister Peter Van Loan – both Estonians, who have had senior cabinet portfolios, met at Tsahkna’s open public meeting at Tartu College recently. It’s well known that both men share values which espouse lasting freedom for formerly occupied nations of the Soviet Union, democratic principles, abhorrence of political repression and the promotion of human rights.
