Estonian Paul Lillakas Won Chopped Canada, a Food Channel weekly show, (last week)

This week, in the weekly show, Chopped Canada, one of contestants, Paul Lillekas won the cooking contest. Lillakas is not a student as a matter of fact. He has web site (www.paullillakas.com) which deals with cooking and photography.

In a background conversation he mentioned that he learned to cook from his Estonian grandmother and mother, which caused one of the three judges, noted Toronto chef Anne Yarymovich to chime in that her husband is Estonian.

Yarymovich, considered one of Toronto's top chefs, who was chef for many years at the Art Gallery of Ontario and is now with the George Brown College chef's school, commented that Lillakas had submitted an Estonian dish made up of sauerkraut and salmon.

It is remarkable where you find Estonians.
