Lance Meynell, a chef and contestant from the 2022 edition of MasterChef New Zealand, is sharing a highly flavourful shashlik recipe, inspired by the homeland of his girlfriend—Estonia!
He even shares insights on the brining process, before the meat ever touches the grill.
On his site, Meynell describes the meat as being “marinated with the highest percentage of vinegar, onions, and spices and finished off cooking over a charcoal barbeque. This easy shashlik recipe is guaranteed to take you on a journey to Europe. In this recipe, I am using pork but you can easily substitute for chicken, lamb, and beef too. It works wonders even with vegetables.”
