TORONTO - The Estonian Central Council in Canada, in partnership with the Baltic Federation of Canada, invites all communit members to participate in a unique discussion about Russian disinformation in Canada and Canada's role in NATO's mission Reassurance in Latvia with Hon. John McKay, MP for Scarbourough-Guildwood.
Mr McKay made international headline in early October when he raised the issue of Kremlin proxy groups during a debate about Canada's recently adopted Sergei Magnitsky Law. Mr. McKay's speech was so unique and powerful that it was reported in the New York Times and other international media.
"There are few public officials who have taken such a strong stand against the Kremlin's attempts to manipulate Canadian issues and policy," said Estonian Central Council President, Marcus Kolga. "Mr. McKay’s support for Canada’s participation and leadership in NATO’s Baltic mission has been unwavering. As Chairman of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security Mr. McKay will no doubt, have some very special insights into cyber security and disinformation threats.”
