For many, seeing Canada progress this deep into the tournament may have been a surprise. But, if you have been watching soccer for the last couple years, you would know that Canada has produced some top players in men’s soccer. From Alphonso Davies at Bayern Munich, to Jonathan David at Atletico Madrid, to Luc de Fougerolles at Fulham. Canada’s men can be found across Europe’s top soccer leagues.

This is the case for the previously mentioned Canadian stars. Alphonso Davies was playing regularly for Bayern by the time he was 20, while Jonathan David and Luc de Fougerolles were playing in France and Belgium at 20.
