While in Riga, attending the FIAF Technical and Cataloguing Short Course, I walked by the
Museum of the Occupation of Latvia. Although the museum had already closed for the day, I was able to see an outdoor exhibition titled “Famine as a weapon – Ukraine. 1932–1933, 2022”.
From Monday, June 19th to Wednesday, June 21st , the Baltic Audiovisual Archival Council, the National Archives of Estonia, and the International Federation of Film Archives presented the Technical and Cataloguing Short Course at the National Archives of Latvia in Riga. On Wednesday, the course participants were given a tour of the Latvian Film Archives.
The Baltic Heritage Network summer school began on Monday, June 26th. We started off at the National Archives of Estonia, where we learned about genealogical research and any possible restrictions, and we were able to take a tour around the building and see some of the collections.
