Despite the dismal showing the Conservatives have rallied according to the latest Forum Research poll in a random sampling of 1,200 people released this weekend (June 11). The poll shows the Conservatives and the New Democratic Party (NDP) tied at 32% each with the Liberals trailing with a dismal 26% if a federal election were called today. The election will be called October 19.

This means if the election results projected on a 338 seat parliament, the Conservatives would receive a minority government of 155 seats, 15 short of a majority, the NDP would receive 120 seats and the Liberals would receive 59.

On leader popularity NDP leader Tom Mulchair would receive 27%, Conservative leader Stephen Harper would receive 25% and 23% would choose Liberal leader Justin Trudeau. The poll was conducted between July 5 and 7 and is considered accurate within a plus or minus 3% 19 times out of 20. The horse race continues.
