In addition to learning useful phrases and vocabulary, learning poems, songs and proverbs and of course, the 14 declinations, the class has enjoyed home-made Estonian bread (“must leib”) as their recess snack and has gotten a glimpse of the world-famous Estonian Song Festival (“Laulupidu”).
As this is a one- semester course, some of the students are continuing in January in EST 101H1, which will start Jan.11 and is also be taught Mondays and Thursday 7-9. The course is open to full-time U of T students and auditors. To enrol in the 2016 Winter term Elementary Estonian course, one should have some preliminary knowledge of it, either through formal course work ( EST 100 F) or via other environments and formats.
