These are Estonian Canadian (sister and brother) filmmakers who have been in the business for eons and have made a very professional history of Estonians in the diaspora while immediately making their very intricate folk costumes, world renown.

Finland's Unofficial Policy (The Estonian title: Tuglas Society: Five important days)

Length: 57 minutes
Led by the first Estonian president who was then foreign minister, Lennart Meri, before Estonia became free the Tuglas Society based in Finland (controlled by the Estonian Soviet government) and to promote Estonian identity outside the curtain. On August 19, 1991 Russian President Mihhail Gorbachev was heard to have been deposed and Estonians were worried about what was going to happen next. Meri swung into action playing a very intricate game of political chess. The result was that Estonia became free. The rest is history.

Another piece of Estonian history in the diaspora, this time the making of food. Estonian food shops, meat shops like Poko Meats and bakeries like Viking Bakery and A.Amjarv fine sweets woven into the history of Estonians in Toronto. Most enjoyable going back in history.
