The Canadian and Estonian anthems led by Avo Kittask initiated the program. Then President of the Esto House, Raivo Remmel gave an address, followed by ECC president Markus Hess who made his remarks, and introduced the diplomats and community leaders present . Then came the cpnfering of The Canadian Estonian Medals of Merit to those deserving by both Hess and Leivat.
The conferring of the Canadian Estonian Gold Medal of Merit to the Hon. Jason Kenney, Minister of Immigration, Citizenship and Multiculturalism was followed by his address in which he praised the work of Canadians of Estonian heritage, the vital importance of freedom, democracy and independence and Canada's role in helping to keep these values important and current. The Hon. Peter Van Loan also participated at the festivities.
After a prayer of invocation by Bishop Andres Taul, the guests partook of the evening dinner.
Following dinner the musical program featured maestro Charles Kipper who accompanied tenor Stephen Bell, Kristina Agur and baritone Avo Kittask all singing solo as well as in duet and trio combinations. Their performances were well received.
The evening continued with Ricky Hiir's ensemble supplying the dance music.
