Both Estonian citizens permanently living abroad and voters temporarily staying abroad who are entered in the list of voters have the right to vote abroad.
In Canada there are three options for votings:
1. Electronic voting at valimised.ee begins on Monday, June 3rd 2024 at 9.00 a.m. and ends Saturday, June 8th 2024 at 8.00 p.m. (UTC +03:00). Visit valimised.ee/en/internet-voting-estonia to learn more about i-voting.
2. In-person at the Embassy of Estonia in Ottawa, address: 168 Daly Ave, Ottawa, ON, K1N 6E9. Voting takes place on Monday, May 27th 2024 at 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 28th 2024 at 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon local time.
3. By mail, an application to vote with a copy of the passport should reach the Embassy by mail latest on May 10th, 2024. Votes itself should be sent back to the Embassy, address: 168 Daly Ave, Ottawa, ON, K1N6E9 latest by May 27th, 2024. An application to vote along with a copy of the passport may be sent also by e-mail: embassy.ottawa@mfa.ee.
REMINDER
- Please check in advance that your identity document is valid on the day of voting.
- If you wish to vote electronically, check that you have valid PINs. To learn more, please visit valimised.ee
- In order to vote, the person must be at least 18 years old and included in the list of voters, which means that they must have a residential address in the population register. Please check your residential address at E-Population Register: rahvastikuregister.ee.
- A person may vote in European Parliament elections in only one Member State.
