Saturday at KESKfEST in Toronto delivered the festival's most ambitious cultural showcase before shifting into a high-energy concluding party. The afternoon centred on Valguspidu: Läbi päeva ja öö (“Celebration of Light: Through Day and Night”) at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. In a powerful display of community and shared heritage, a 300-voice choir joined forces on stage with 300 folk dancers and gymnasts. Guided by artistic leads Heli Jürgenson, Agne Kurrikoff-Herman, and Janika Mölder, the performance moved gracefully through choral classics, movement, and emotional highlights, including a live rendition of Peeter Kopvillem’s title anthem by his daughters Keila and Leiki (accompanied by Aarne Tork), alongside guest performances by Kristiina Maria Agur and Ukulele.
As night fell, the festivities returned to the KESKfEST Tent for the Lõpupidu, the official festival closing party. Here, Atomic Heeringas took the stage, delivering a heavy-hitting, high-calibre set of 1960s, '70s, and '80s classics that packed the dance floor. The band brought together local rock veterans and visiting musicians for one last festival night to remember.
