On Sunday September 22nd, 2024, Estonians gathered at Woodland Cemetery and St. Matthew on-the-Plains Church in Burlington as part of the ongoing commemorations of the Suurpõgenemine / Mass Flight of 1944.
The day began with an abbreviated worship service led by Rev. Tuuli Raamat at the Memorial in Woodland Cemetery, followed by a concert at the church. Veiko Parming shared words of reflection, and performances by the ÖÖBIK ensemble and the Hamilton Estonian Society Mixed Choir filled the space with moving tributes.
