Jaan Schaer, active with Variety Village

Jaan Schaer, a volunteer and client of Variety was at the retirement gathering of Variety Village CEO John Wilson who will travel with his wife after six years of steering the finances of the organization. Wilson started his travels this summer by going on a Baltic Sea cruise and visiting Tallinn and spending a day sight seeing through the old city. He now knows how to say "tere" and what it means.

Wilson is succeeded by Karen Stintz, former Toronto City Councillor and mayoral candidate whose main job will be fund raising for the new, ambitious drive to build an addition to the gym.

Schaer is a retired Toronto Police psychologist (head of the department) whose job was to interview police involved in shooting incidents. “There were no incidents of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) during my watch,” said Schaer proudly.

Variety Village needs our help because they help handicapped youth as well as those injured by accidents.
