Montreal Baltic artists celebrate their 15th art exhibition

The fifteenth annual exposition of the Baltic Artists Association of Montreal is taking place this week at the Viva Vida Art Gallery, in Pointe Claire, Quebec. The exposition features an eclectic mix of 50 works from eighteen different artists. Participating artists are: Raimonda Bieliauskaite, Harold Celtorius, Aušra Geralavičiūtė, Rita Jozuus, Ann Kallaste-Kruzelecky, Inara Leimanis, Mary Mannapso, Neola Matusiewicz, Aldona Morkunas, Rasa Pavilanis, Alvyra Povilaitis, Ray Piesina, Mara Rudzitis, Monika Šlykaitė, Ina Varkala, John Vazalinskas, Hille Viires, Valli Viliusis.

Over hundred people passed through the gallery during the opening vernissage on Friday October 13, including the Mr. Roberts Klaise, Honorary Latvian Consul. In a brief address, Mr. Klaise pointed out the role that exhibits such as this one play in raising awareness of Baltic culture and heritage within the Quebec community. BAA president Ann Kallaste-Kruzelecky reminded the participants and guests that next year’s event will be particularly significant, given that it will take place during the centenary celebrations of Baltic independence.

Viva Vida Art Gallery is located in the heart of Pointe Claire village, at 278-2 Lakeshore Rd., Pointe-Claire, QC. The exhibition runs until October 21.
