The Chicago Estonian School opened its doors on April 9th, 1967. The mission was to offer Estonians living outside of Estonia an enriched curriculum that provided not only the basics of learning the Estonian language, but also subjects and opportunities that introduced Estonian culture and tradition.

The Baltic American Freedom League’s programs are designed to assist the development of democracy and market economies in the Baltic countries, to assure the security of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from outside aggression, and to increase awareness of Baltic history and culture.

Atlanta Estonian Cultural Society has been launched with the goal of to maintain contacts between Atlanta area Estonians and their families and to maintain and promote knowledge of Estonia’s culture, language, and history.

The AABS promotes research and education in Baltic Studies by sponsoring meetings and conferences, supporting publications, sustaining a program of scholarships, grants, and prizes, and disseminating news of current interest in Baltic Studies.
