At a few years younger Justin did not quite understand his father's logic. A few years later he was brought up to speed. Thomas Mulcair, one year as NDP leader, Jack Layton's replacement, past provincial Quebec Liberal leader wanted to eject the word socialist from the NDP dialogue at their annual meeting. They took it out. It seems the NDP wants to become the Liberal replacement but Mulcair needs to smile. He doesn't smile at all.
The Conservatives were sitting back in the background watching with interest.
