For some 30 years the Brownies of ‘Põhjarada’ and the Cub Scouts of ‘Põhjakotka’ have brought Christmas cheer to the Seniors residing at Ehatare. Once again, this year it was a lively repertoire of traditional Christmas carols mixed in with Estonian translations of modern songs and ‘päkapikk’ dances. Needless to say, the level of enjoyment by the Seniors could probably be measured by the use or absence of hearing aids, according to a resident. More important is the understanding by the youngsters that these very same people left them the legacy by which the Estonian community still flourishes.
