Stenbock House, Tallinn, 22 May 2018 – On Monday 28 May, Prime Minister Jüri Ratas is meeting with Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada in Ottawa.
The prime ministers will discuss the defence cooperation in NATO, the security situation in the Baltic Sea region, the transatlantic trade relations, and the conflict in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Ratas will travel to Canada in the afternoon of Thursday 24 May. Ratas will meet in Toronto with the Estonian community in Canada and participate in the Estonian Music Week held in honour of the 100th anniversary of Estonia (https://www.estonianmusicweek.ca/). In addition to Prime Minister Trudeau, Ratas will meet in the capital, Ottawa, with Harjit Sajjan, the Minister of National Defence, and other high representatives of state.
During his Canada visit, the prime minister is accompanied by a business delegation consisting mostly of representatives of the information technology and tourism sectors. The visit of the business delegation is organised by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In the evening of 28 May, Ratas will travel from Canada to a visit in Iceland.
