R.S. Kane Funeral Home

The story of the R. S. Kane Funeral Home is one of spirit, determination and family, spanning over 68 years.  In 1950, Robert Simpson Kane and Gwendolyn Eadie Fraser were married and shortly thereafter purchased the Fred Myers Funeral Home located at 4812 Yonge Street.  The newlyweds took up residence on the second floor of the funeral home and began serving the community with attention to detail and a penchant for hard work.

The growth in the area in the 1970s resulted in escalating traffic at the Yonge and Sheppard intersection, and the property at that location was becoming inadequate for the Kane Funeral Home to continue its established level of quality service.

After seven years of planning, the existing funeral home at 6150 Yonge Street was built and subsequently opened in 1985.  Today the building serves a growing multicultural community with a large full time staff and a number of support personnel dedicated to exceptional service.

John R. Kane is the eldest son of Gwen and the late Robert and oversees the business today.

R.S. Kane has years of experience in servicing the Estonian-Canadian community!
