The Estonian Central Council in Canada Remembers the Victims of the Holocaust

January 27, 2021

TORONTO - On January 27, the world remembers the millions of victims of the Holocaust on International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

In Europe, over six million Jews, and millions of other victims were murdered by the Nazi German regime.

We must always stand up against the kind of fear and hate that fueled the barbaric terror of the Nazi German regime and condemn all forms of anti-Semitism, racism and totalitarianism, wherever they may appear.

The past years have underscored the importance of reminding ourselves of the lessons of the Holocaust, to ensure that this hate never again rises and that its heinous crimes are never repeated.

“The Estonian Central Council in Canada encourages all Canadians to participate in the #WeRemember campaign, the global campaign for International Holocaust Remembrance Day” said Estonian Central Council in Canada President, Kairi Taul Hemingway.

The Estonian Central Council condemns the crimes of Nazi Germany and remains steadfast in our obligation and commitment to ensuring that the intolerance and hate that fueled its evil crimes are never allowed to repeat.

“Our thoughts are with the victims and survivors of the Holocaust and all those who stood up against Nazi tyranny, we must always continue to remember and honour them ” said Estonian Central Council President emeritus Marcus Kolga.

We Remember.
