Seeing the movie Tron: Legacy (2010) in 3D at Ekraan cinema in Tartu was an experience that is etched in my mind forever. I have since seen this film more than a dozen times and even recreated the scene crossing the Lions Gate Bridge on a motorcycle at sunrise one time.
I remember declaring to myself then that I would be in Tron 3, which was slated to start shooting sometime in 2015. It has since been green-lit and cancelled several times. When things moved ahead with production in July of this year, the Writers Guild of America strike and SAG-AFTRA strike delayed it again. Finally, it’s looking like the film will be shot in early 2024, for a 2025 release, with Jared Leto as the lead actor. Personally, I was hoping the actors from the 2010 film would reprise their roles, but it has been rewritten so many times that the studio decided to go with a different storyline.
The same goes for an acting career — it’s not something you “just pick up” or even “just give up.” A true actor is an actor for life, even if they haven’t been in any big productions for some time.
