The guests were able to skate on the famous outdoor rink in Rideau Hall, to participate in dog sledding, take a part in kicksledding excursions, enjoy horse-drawn sleigh ride or to join a tours of the official residence of the Governor General.
The Winter Celebration was taking place in partnership with twelve diplomatic missions from Europe and with the support of the National Capital Commission.
The embassies of Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Slovenia,Sweden, European Union Delegation in Canada provided information and treats from their country. It was a great opportunity to promote the winter traditions of their countries to community at large. More than 3,000 people attended this wonderful winter celebration in the Nation's capital and everybody was grateful for the warm hospitality of the organizers.
