Ansambel Kiiora – A Seto Culture Workshop
Folk ensemble Kiiora is inspired by Seto and Finno-Ugric music. Our repertoire includes tunes from Estonia, neighboring peoples, and a fair share of traditional-style original compositions, which have earned us the nickname “särtsbänd” or “a band full of sparks” from our listeners. So, whether a tune was born yesterday or a century ago, comes from our own minds or from the village of Uusvada – our lively playing is always equally captivating!
We’ve now been together for 15 years, introducing traditional music all across Europe. At the most recent National Dance Festival, nearly 10% of the pieces performed were composed by us!
Kiiora consists of Matis Leima (violin and garmoshka), Mihkel Sildoja (garmoshka), and Laurits Leima (guitar).
In Estonian and Seto languages, free event with donations welcomed
