First Estonian Born NHL Player Meets With Toronto-Estonian Youth

The first Estonian born player in the NHL, Toronto Maple Leafs forward, Leo Komarov, took time off from his busy hockey schedule on Friday to meet with young Toronto-Estonian hockey players. Local youth were invited to attend The Maple Leafs closed practice and chat with Leo afterwards, where he signed autographs and answered questions.

Leo signed a one year contract with The Leafs last Spring after he caught the attention of the Toronto hockey club's international scouts.

Adding much needed grit to The Leafs with his clean, hard hitting style of play, Leo is quickly winning over Toronto fans and was recently moved up to the team's second line for Saturday's 3-0 win over Ottawa.

At Friday's meeting, the young Toronto-Estonian hockey players proudly presented Leo with an Estonian-Canadian hockey jersey with the hope that he might help out the team at future local multicultural hockey tournaments.

The meeting with Leo on Friday was organized by The Toronto Maple Leafs and Marcus Kolga for the Estonian Foundation of Canada.
