On the evening of Thursday August 21st, the Estonian Central Council in Canada hosted an event at Tartu College in Toronto to commemorate Black Ribbon Day and the 34th anniversary of the restoration of Estonia's independence.
Among the happenings of the night were speeches by Professor Andres Kasekamp and Rob Zeidler (speaking about Ukraine). Attendees also listened to a performance by Tartu Academic Men's Choir and lit candles to honour the victims of totalitarian, communist, and fascist regimes.
